McDonald's Announces First U.S. Renewable Energy Deals
As a major step towards the iconic brand's ambitious climate action goals, McDonald's has signed two Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs) to purchase renewable energy from portions of Aviator Wind, a wind project located in Coke County, Texas, and a solar project also located in Texas.
The total output of these renewable energy purchases—a combined 380 MW—will be equivalent to the electricity usage of over 2,500 McDonald’s restaurants.
CFR is pleased to have supported McDonald's on the development of its corporate renewable energy strategy and on the implementation of these milestone deals. We are a proud long-term partner of McDonald’s and look forward to continuing to support its transition to a more sustainable future.
