Becoming a CFR customer means that you…
-
Produce
your own energy and renewable energy certificates (RECs) over the next
20 years from leased capacity, sized and located to meet your needs
-
Profit by using your generation to offset current purchases and/or sell the output in the wholesale market
-
Offset future electricity costs, since income generated by your CFR capacity kWh sales increases as the price of power goes up
-
Benefit from pooling your capacity with other CFR customers, which mitigates future cost, operational and technological risks
CFR acts as an active owner/manager with interests fully aligned with
its customers. We tailor renewable supply solutions to each customer’s
needs. Our offerings are customized around five core elements. We work
with each customer to jointly determine what’s provided, based on
answers to a few questions within each element.
1.
Scope. What portion of your current and future electricity usage would
you like to have come from
renewables? In which physical locations and over what time frame?
2.
Technology. To what extent can utility-scale wind add economic and
renewable value to your current
supply portfolio? Can solar be used selectively to expand the opportunity set? Under what circumstances could other supply technologies change the answers?
3.
Business model. Do you have physical property that could support preferred technologies? Given your physical footprint, what business model(s) make sense for you?
4.
Financing. What is a realistic hurdle rate for renewables and how does it compare to the risk profile of other investments you might make? To what extent is there an appetite for investment tax credits vs. a need to have others utilize them?
5.
Operations. How close would you like to be to ongoing operations? What does this imply for the frequency and depth of operational information that you’d like to receive from CFR?
Depending
on their specific circumstances, CFR will tailor the nature and
location of the wind site offering to customers. In some situations,
the wind capacity may reside close to our customer’s operations. In
others, the wind farm may be situated much further away. No matter
which model is deployed, CFR focuses on delivering a value proposition
that has attractive economics and environmental benefits, tailored to
customer needs.
